Setup Tracking for Speedway Sedan and Sprintcar Racers

Speedway is the fastest-changing setup environment in motorsport: the track is tacky for hot laps, slick by the feature, and the car needs different stagger, wedge, bar and tyre settings for each. Most of that knowledge is in the crew chief's head. Setup Genius lets a speedway team record every change per heat against the track condition, so the next time the surface goes slick you know what the car wanted.

Tracking a night, not a setup

On a circuit one setup might last a weekend. At a speedway it lasts one heat. Setup Genius sessions map directly onto hot laps, heats, B-main and feature, each with its own setup record and track-condition note. After a season you can filter by track and condition and see what the car ran every time the surface went black.

Tyres are the setup

Dirt racers tune mainly with tyres: compound, siping, grooving, pressure and stagger. The tyre bank stores each tyre's compound, brand, diameter and lap count and assigns it to a wheel position on each setup, so stagger history and tyre life are both visible.

Frequently asked questions

Does it handle sprintcars and midgets as well as sedans?

Yes. Templates are per vehicle, so a sprintcar template can track torsion bar sizes, bar splits and wing angles while a sedan template tracks coil springs and sway bars.

Is there signal at speedway tracks?

Usually enough for a phone. If not, record on paper during the night and enter it before you leave the pits so nothing is lost.

Can my crew chief and I both update the setup?

On Pro and above, yes, with live updates so the whole crew sees changes as they happen.
